• Mold found at City Hall in Bessemer City

BESSEMER CITY, NC - Bessemer City officials say the customer service and finance services will be temporarily moved out of City Hall after the discovery of mold caused by a faulty air conditioning system.

An increase in moisture caused elevated levels of Alternaria and Cladosporium. Officials say the mold is not toxic, but can affect people with autoimmune deficiencies.

The city will relocate the Customer Service/Finance Division to the Kiser Senior Center (123 West Pennsylvania Avenue) on Monday, March 26. The division will remain at the Kiser Senior Center until repairs and cleanup efforts are completed

Citizens can visit the temporary location to pay utility bills and speak with City Hall administrative staff.
