More than $1 billion in stimulus money went to people who had died, report says

CHARLOTTE — Action 9's Jason Stoogenke told you months ago the government was sending stimulus money to people who had died.

The Government Accountability Office released a report, which said the Treasury Department and the IRS sent almost 1.1. million stimulus payments and nearly $1.4 billion of that went to people who were dead.

In the video at the top of this webpage, people say they’re still waiting for their stimulus checks and it’s closing in on three months since the first payments hit bank accounts.
