Mother, son write workbook to help children express feelings in healthy way

CHARLOTTE — A local mother and son are sharing their workbook aimed to help young children express their feelings in a healthy way.

Carla Carlisle and her 12-year-old son JC cowrote “My Big Notebook,” inspired by their own journey. The book includes ways to cope, positive affirmations and journaling pages.

“One of the things that I learned that I really believe in through a decade of therapy is it’s so important to have an outlet for feelings,” Carlisle said.
