Mother, young children held at gunpoint during north Charlotte home invasion

CHARLOTTE — A mother and her children were victims of a home invasion Monday night in north Charlotte, according to police.

It happened around 7 p.m. on Oakdale Green Drive. Police said two suspects broke into the home and forced the mother and her two young children into a room at gunpoint as they took items from the house.

According to a police report, a firearm, wedding bands, cellphones and other items were stolen.

There is an active investigation, and police have not made any arrests.
