NC authorities looking for escaped inmate

RALEIGH, N.C. — Authorities in North Carolina are searching for an escaped inmate.

Officers discovered Bobby Crews was gone Thursday afternoon from the Butner Satellite Prison Camp, which is just north of Durham.

Crews is serving time on drug and firearms possession charges and would have been released in 2020.

Last month, convicted murderer James Ladd escaped from a state prison farm about an hour east of Raleigh.

He was caught five days later 10 miles away from the prison.

Authorities said Ladd survived by eating acorns.  He was caught when he ventured into town looking for water.
