NC relief-group Samaritan's Purse to send crew to flood ravaged Mozambique

NORTH CAROLINA — Relief is pouring in to Mozambique, including help from a group in North Carolina, after Tropical Storm Idai ravaged the area last week.

Samaritan's Purse said it is sending a team to the hardest hit areas of the region.

Officials said they sent a crew of 18 people including disaster workers and medical professionals.

They are scheduled to arrive in Mozambique Saturday, following what the United Nations said may be the worst weather related disaster in the Southern Hemisphere.
