• NCDOT continues work on warning system on I-277 in Charlotte

    Updated:

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The right lane of the Brookshire Freeway West from Church Street to the Interstate 77 North exit ramp will be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Wednesday and Thursday.

The lane is part of a project to install an advanced warning system on the Interstate 277 Outer Loop, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

The system will detect traffic data such as volume and speed, alerting motorists to backups that frequently occur on the ramp.

The project is expected to be completed by Dec. 4.
