• Neighbor heard explosion before home caught fire


    CHARLOTTE, N.C. - A neighbor told Channel 9 she heard an explosion just before a west Charlotte home caught fire.

    The neighbor said she saw a window blow out Thursday night at a house on Sampson Street, near Hovis Road. 

    She ran over to see if anyone was hurt.

    Firefighters told Eyewitness News that no one was home at the time. They're still trying to find out what caused the fire.
