STANLY COUNTY, N.C. — A pet boa constrictor that became stuck behind the dashboard of a car in Stanly County needed the help of animal control officers to wriggle free.

Stanly County Animal Protective Services posted on Facebook that there “is never a dull moment,” along with a photo of two officers holding the large snake.

The boa constrictor, which is several feet long, somehow slithered its way into the dashboard of its owner’s car on Monday and got stuck.

Officers safely removed the enormous snake and it is now back home.

It’s still unclear how the snake, measured at about 5 feet, became stuck in such a tight space.

Boa constrictors are a species of nonvenomous tropical snake capable of swallowing their prey whole.
