CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Chiquita's newest CEO begins his new job on Monday.
Edward Lonergan will be in charge of the company's headquarters in uptown Charlotte.
Lonergan was the president of an Industrial Cleaning company in Wisconsin.
The former CEO, Fernando Aguirre, will stay on with the company for the next year as a consultant.
Aguirre reportedly received an almost $5 million severance package.
