No arrests made after man, woman seriously hurt in Chester drive-by shooting

CHESTER, S.C. — A man and a woman were seriously hurt after a drive-by shooting in Chester County late Saturday night, police say.

The shooting happened after 10 p.m. on Brendale Drive in Chester.

Police said several people were standing outside a house when someone drove by and fired 15 to 20 shots, hitting two people.

Officers told Channel 9′s South Carolina bureau reporter Greg Suskin both victims were taken to the hospital, and at least one is in critical condition. Their names have not been released.

Authorities have not said what led up to the shooting.

No arrests have been made, but Chester Police Chief Eric Williams said they are working several leads. He said he does not believe the two people were specifically targeted.
