GASTONIA, N.C. — A nonprofit just opened up new houses in Gastonia for people struggling with alcohol and drug addiction.
The group "Samantha's House" was formed in honor of a pregnant mother who died four years ago in a car crash.
Her husband said she was a drug user but was able to overcome her addiction and that's why he created Samantha's House -- to help women go from addiction to being self-sufficient.
"This is about forgiveness. And that's what this is about, man. We wanna give these people an opportunity to find a new way of life," said the director of Samantha's House Cornell Thomas,
The director also announced that the group is planning to open a men's house soon.
