Officers take Kannapolis children on Christmas shopping spree

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — Not every kid gets to celebrate the holiday season in the same way, especially with the pandemic and supply chain issues challenging families everywhere.

This year, the Kannapolis Police Department made sure more families felt the holiday spirit.

The officers brought dozens of children to Target to shop for presents they may not have otherwise gotten for Christmas.

“To see the joy and the true Christmas spirit on these kids’ faces -- that’s what this is about,” said Kannapolis Police Chief Terry Spry.
