CORNELIUS, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utility Department told Channel 9 they responded to a broken wastewater pipe near Lake Norman Sunday.
The spill happened on Peninsula Drive in Cornelius and CMUD estimated that 200 gallons of wastewater reached Lake Norman.
Officials said a crew reached the spill within 30 minutes and were able to repair the pipe and clean the area.
No dead fish were found associated with the overflow.
