• One person has life-threatening injuries after crash

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. - One person has life-threatening injuries after a crash in southeast Charlotte early Monday.

    The crash happened at about 7 a.m. in the 6400 block of Independence Boulevard, just north of W.T. Harris Boulevard. The victim was taken to Carolinas Medical Center-Main.

    Firefighters initially said the victim was trapped in the wreckage.

    Officials said drivers should expect delays in the area.
