Open enrollment for ACA plans starts Sunday

If you don’t have health insurance through your work, Healthcare.gov is probably the least expensive option for you.

The Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy says the four biggest mistakes people make are:

1. They miss the deadline. Open enrollment goes until Dec. 15.
2. They’re so focused on how much the premiums cost, they don’t factor in the deductibles, copays, coinsurance, and out-of-pocket maximums.
3. People go with a high-deductible plan because the premiums are low, but don’t realize they may end up paying more.
4. They go without insurance. Just remember: one medical issue could cost you thousands.
