Paralyzed NC trooper to return home from hospital more than 2 years after crash

Two years ago Thursday, a regular day of work for a local trooper ended in a life-changing accident.

Trooper Chris Wooten was hit by a truck while chasing a suspect on his motorcycle. He’s now paralyzed from the neck down.

Channel 9′s Allison Latos has stayed in close touch with the Wooten family, and learned he’s just weeks from finally coming home.

Wooten can’t wait to come home to Gaston County and order his regular at Ray Nathan’s BBQ, Amberjack Seafood and Mayworth’s Public House. He will experience those familiar spots again, just in a new way.

“I’m grateful I am still here and I get to enjoy every day,” Wooten said.
