HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — Troopers are investigating after they said a man was struck and killed Friday afternoon on a ramp leading to Interstate 485 from Interstate 77 in Huntersville.

The accident happened just before 4:30 p.m. on the I-77 northbound ramp to the Interstate 485 inner ramp.
Troopers said a man was walking on the ramp when he was hit by a driver. The driver told law enforcement officers he didn't see the victim until it was too late.
Officials shut down the ramp while they conducted an investigation, but it has since been reopened.
No charges have been filed at this point.
