• Police: Man falls 40 to 50 feet at Bank of America stadium


    CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers responded around 8 p.m. Saturday to Bank of America Stadium after a man fell out of the stadium and onto the lawn.  

    Police said the Sean Michael Powers, 22, of New Port Richey, Fla., had fallen from the 400 level ramp of the stadium after he tried to locate his seat. An officer said the fall was about 40 to 50 feet. It happened about 20 to 25 minutes after the game started.

    Medic responded to the scene and transported the victim to Carolinas Medical Center-Main, where he was in critical condition.  

    CMPD Homicide Unit Detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation.  The preliminary investigation indicated it was a public accident.
