Pedestrian hit, killed by truck on busy York County road, troopers say

YORK COUNTY, S.C. — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a truck while crossing a busy York County road Wednesday night, according to the Highway Patrol.

The person, who has not been identified, was trying to cross Carowinds Boulevard near Interstate 77 around 8:35 p.m. when they were hit by a 2003 Toyota truck.

The pedestrian died at the scene.

The driver of the truck was not hurt, troopers sad.

The crash remains under investigation.
