PHOTOS: Vegan bistro, once based in California, now serving up healthy options in south Charlotte

CHARLOTTE — This former California bistro has found a new home in south Charlotte.

Sanctuary Bistro has opened in The Shops at Piper Glen. It’s located at 6414 Rea Road in the same complex as Trader Joe’s.

The 30-seat bistro is tucked into a 1,200-square-foot-space.

Sanctuary Bistro — a former icon of the San Francisco Bay Area vegan community — is co-owned by Jennifer Jones-Horton, and husband Barry, who is also the executive chef.

“It was like it was meant to be,” Jones-Horton says of the space. “We like staying small and being a family-sized restaurant.”
