Police: 15-year-old robs east Charlotte gas station, fires several shots inside

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police say a 15-year-old boy has been arrested after they say he robbed an east Charlotte gas station at gunpoint early Sunday morning.

The robbery happened just before 1 a.m. at the BP Gas Station on Cambridge Commons Drive.

Officers responding to the scene said an armed suspect entered the gas station, pulled out a gun and demanded property from an employee inside the business.

During the robbery, the suspect fired several shots inside the gas station, hitting a second employee. They are expected to be OK, according to police.

Authorities said officers found a 15-year-old boy who matched the description of the suspect less than 10 minutes after arriving at the gas station.

15-year-old arrested in connection with 2 home break-ins, sex assaults

After he was interviewed by detectives, he was charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill and robbery with a dangerous weapon.
