Police arrest suspect in connection with east Charlotte homicide

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — On Friday afternoon, police cornered a suspect wanted in connection with an east Charlotte homicide.

A large police presence along Cressingham Court off Idlewild Road North was connected to the homicide case from Jan. 4.

Antonio Green Collins, 21, was arrested without incident and charged with the murder of Shakier Henderson, 21.

Police said Collins killed Henderson, whose body was found on a trail near the Heritage Park Apartments on Jan. 4.

Collins' first court appearance is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 14.
