• Police: Driver left scene after crashing into two homes

    Updated:

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Police are searching for the driver of a van that hit two homes in southwest Charlotte.

Officers said the van crashed into two homes on Beech Nut Road early Friday morning, and then the driver took off.

Investigators said the van was stolen and that they had tried to pull over the driver before the crash.

The wreck only knocked a few bricks loose on the first house and dented some siding on the second home. No one was hurt, and the second house was vacant.
