Police: Family Dollar robbed in northwest Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police said a Family Dollar store in northwest Charlotte was robbed Wednesday afternoon.

A burgundy SUV that police believe was involved in the robbery was found abandoned at the corner of Elon Street and Alice Avenue.

The SUV was reported stolen Tuesday from north Charlotte.

Police said after dumping the SUV, the robbers jumped into another SUV and fled the scene.
