Police make arrest weeks after man shot to death in Salisbury

SALISBURY, N.C. — Police have made an arrest more than two weeks after a man was shot and killed in Salisbury.

On Aug. 24, officers responded to a shooting call just before 11 p.m. on Williams Road. When they arrived, police found 29-year-old Michael Payne, who had been shot.

He was pronounced dead before paramedics could get him to the hospital.

On Wednesday, police said they had arrested Jihiem Tiquez Leach and charged him with murder.

Police have not released any other information about the crime.
