Police investigate 2 shootings in same west Charlotte neighborhood

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Two shootings occurred in a west Charlotte neighborhood in less than a day, police said.

In both incidents someone was hurt.

Police are looking for suspects in both shootings and trying to determine if the incidents were related.

Police were called to Blessing Street just after 11 p.m. for the second time Monday.

Channel 9 was told one person was grazed by a bullet, but was not injured seriously enough to be taken to the hospital.

Channel 9 spoke to the victim's sister while police were investigation.  She said her sister was not the target.

"We just want it to stop before someone innocent gets killed, because of whatever mistake someone is making," said the victim's sister Veronica Adams.

The first shooting happened around 4 p.m. Medic told Channel 9 one person was taken to the hospital.

There is no word on their name or condition. 

Channel 9 checked into crime reports in the area over the last year.  There have been seven armed robberies, five aggravated assaults with a knife and one with a gun.
