CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said it’s investigating after shots were fired in a northwest Charlotte neighborhood Thursday morning.
It happened around 10:15 a.m. in the area near Valleydale Road and Fred Alexander Boulevard.

Chopper 9 Skyzoom flew over the railroad tracks off Hovis Road, where we saw at least two people in custody.
Police said several people have been detained, but they’re still investigating.
Officers said no one was shot.
No other details have been released.
