CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are investigating after they say a man fired a shot at officers in an east Charlotte motel.
Police were called Saturday morning to the Sun Suites Motel on East Independence Boulevard.
Officers said when they knocked on the door of a room, the man inside fired a shot through the door and then turned the gun on himself.
The man was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Police are interviewing the woman who was inside the room at the time.
