CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police were investigating after they said someone was shot to death in north Charlotte early Tuesday morning.
Officers were called out to the scene on Newcastle Street, just off Lasalle Street near Lincoln Heights Academy, around 6:40 a.m. and found man shot multiple times.

The man was found on the lawn of the school and MEDIC pronounced him dead on the scene.
His name has not been released.
Circumstances surrounding the shooting were still unclear and police have not released any suspect information yet.
