• Police involved in crash after chasing suspects


    CHARLOTTE, N.C. - A police chase in east Charlotte ended with two patrol cruisers colliding early Friday morning.

    It started when officers were called to a reported carjacking at apartments on Idlewild Road. Police said they saw the suspects there and chased them outbound on Independence Boulevard.

    It ended with a crash at WT Harris. The scene there has cleared, and outbound Independence reopened just before 5 a.m.

    Police have one person in custody and are looking for one more.

    No one was seriously hurt in the incident.
