Police: Journal entry detailed Clover student's plan to kill classmate

CLOVER, S.C. — A 14-year-old Clover boy is facing felony charges after police said he wrote about killing a classmate.

According to a York County sheriff's report obtained by our partners at The Herald, fellow Clover Middle School students found the journal and told administrators.

The report said the boy wrote about shooting another 14-year-old with a shotgun.

According to the report, the boy told administrators he wrote the entry because his friends had chosen to sit with the other boy.

He's charged with first-degree assault and battery -- a charge that faces a maximum of 10 years in prison.
