Officers responded to a possible hit and run call around 3:40 p.m. Thursday at a shopping center near Tom Hall Street and Dobys Bridge Road in Fort Mill.

Upon arrival, Shawn Antonik told officers he was at the shopping center to sell his 2005 Acura TL to a man he knew as Jacob Gaines.

Officials said during the transaction, the suspect snatched the keys to the Acura, got into the vehicle and drove off. The victim said he then chased after the car and was hit as Gaines drove out of the parking lot.
