Police make arrest after man shot in face in Rock Hill bar

ROCK HILL, S.C. — Rock Hill police have arrested a man after they say he shot someone in the face inside a bar last week.

Police said 20-year-old Willie Minton, III was arrested over the weekend following the shooting last Thursday at Rock City Tavern.

Officers said the victim was shot while trying to break up a fight between two women.

Police said officers responded to the Rock City Tavern last Thursday night and found a 24-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the face.

The owner of the bar told police the victim was shot inside the bar, according to a police report.

The police report stated the victim pulled the round from his face on his own.

The victim was transported to Carolinas Medical Center Main with serious injuries. He is expected to survive.

Police said Minton left the scene in a silver Crown Victoria after the shooting.

He is now in jail under a $150,000 bond.
