Police: Meth lab discovered in Hickory woods behind church

HICKORY, N.C. — Police in Hickory discovered a meth lab in some woods behind a church Tuesday morning.   
           
Investigators said it was a tip that led them to search behind the Free Oil Ministries on Lenoir-Rhyne Boulevard.   
            
Both undercover narcotics officers and the State Bureau of Investigation went into the woods where police said they found a small lab.   

Police arrested and charged David Allen Jennings, 44, with manufacturing a controlled substance-methamphetamine.
            
Officers said a large number of homeless camp in that area of Hickory.
