• Police say man robbed drug store at gunpoint

    MAIDEN - A man held up a Maiden Pharmacy on Monday morning around 11:30. The unidentified white man walked into the TAS Drug at 201 Island Ford Road in Maiden.

    According to a release from the Maiden Police Department, the man presented a threatening note to pharmacy staff saying he had a gun and demanding staff gave him certain specific controlled substance medication.

    The suspect is described as a white male in his late 20s or early 30s, approximately six feet one inch tall and slender build. He was wearing black shorts, a black long sleeve shirt, black shoes, black sunglasses and was wearing a dark colored hat with a red bill. The hat had a Cincinnati Reds logo on it.

    The suspect left the scene in a white colored car, described as an older model. The car was possibly a GM, Ford or Chrysler brand. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Maiden Police Department at 828-428-5005.
