HICKORY, N.C. — Police are searching for a gunman after a man was shot to death Monday evening at a Hickory apartment complex.
The shooting happened around 5:45 p.m. outside the Hillside Gardens Apartments on 8th Avenue Drive Southeast.

Neighbors told Channel 9's Dave Faherty that they heard at least one gunshot before seeing a man run away from the scene.
Officers said when they got there, they found a man who had been shot in the chest lying on the ground at a common area the apartment complex.
He was identified as 30-year-old Jonathan Credle.
He was rushed to a hospital where he died.
No arrests have been made.
