CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police found a man Sunday who wandered from his uptown hotel room and was missing.
Authorities said 71-year-old Willie Gillespie Jr. was reunited with his family in good health after he was located in uptown near where he was last seen.

Officials said he was staying at the Double Tree on West Trade Street, near Johnson and Wales University when he went missing. A family member told police Gillespie left his hotel room Friday night without his coat and cane.
His family also said he suffers from early onset dementia and they were concerned for his well-being.
Gillespie was last seen wearing a plaid purple shirt with corduroy pants and grey sneakers with orange trim. Police described him as being 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighing 160 pounds.
