CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Police are searching for a gunman who shot a clerk Monday at a store in west Charlotte.

There was still a fleet of police officers investigating inside Southside Mart at 5 p.m.

It’s a store whose workers are well-known to people in the neighborhood. Channel 9 was told one of the clerks may have been the target of an angry customer.

Witnesses said a customer may have gotten into a shouting match with the clerk.

They said the shooter left the store and came back with a gun, firing three shots.

The clerk was taking to Carolinas Medical Center-Main with non-life-threatening injuries.

Channel 9 was at the store in November for another shooting.

Police said Trevon Daymo Young was arrested after he took a man's money then shot him in the leg.

It took police two weeks to find Young.

Witnesses are hoping police can find Monday’s shooter quicker.

Police used their chopper and a K-9 unit to try to find the shooter. They are still searching as of Monday night.
