• Police: Thief steals pepper spray, gas mask from CMPD cruiser

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Police said someone broke into a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police cruiser in southwest Charlotte and stole several items.

    The officer’s car was parked on Oakcrest Green Drive off Tyvola Road when it was broken into Monday.

    Authorities said the thief stole a police baton, pepper spray, a gas mask and a number of other items.
