The girl, who was from Shelby, was shot and killed in August 2017 while visiting family in Gaffney.

According to officials, Kamryn was sitting on a sofa when a bullet came through the window and struck her in the head.

A 16-year-old juvenile is charged with murder in Kamryn's death. Greyson Ellis Hughey, 18, is charged with accessory after the fact to a felony.

Kamryn's mother, Kara Wilson, was there for the announcement and had mixed emotions.

"Thank you all, thank you with all my heart. We're just overwhelmed, we're full of mixed emotions, but I do hope that in the end, justice is going to be served," Wilson said.

The investigation is ongoing and the police chief said more charges are possible in the case.
