2 teens charged in shooting death of 8-year-old Shelby girl

GAFFNEY, S.C. — Gaffney police announced Thursday that officers arrested two teenagers with the shooting death of 8-year-old Kamryn Montara Lamya Bradley.

The girl, who was from Shelby, was shot and killed in August 2017 while visiting family in Gaffney.

According to officials, Kamryn was sitting on a sofa when a bullet came through the window and struck her in the head.

A 16-year-old juvenile is charged with murder in Kamryn's death. Greyson Ellis Hughey, 18, is charged with accessory after the fact to a felony.

Spartanburg County deputies and the U.S. Marshals Service arrested the 16-year-old Thursday morning in Spartanburg. Gaffney police arrested Hughey Thursday morning as well.

Kamryn's mother, Kara Wilson, was there for the announcement and had mixed emotions.

"Thank you all, thank you with all my heart. We're just overwhelmed, we're full of mixed emotions, but I do hope that in the end, justice is going to be served," Wilson said.

The investigation is ongoing and the police chief said more charges are possible in the case.
