Police trying to identify suspects in robbery attempt

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are trying to identify two people in connection with an attempted armed robbery at the One Stop Smoke Shop on University City Boulevard.

Investigators said a man and a woman walked into the store on Sunday, and the woman demanded money from the clerk while armed with a knife.

The suspects didn’t get any merchandise from the store, police said. The clerk wasn’t injured.

Officers said the first suspect is described as a light-skinned black woman who is approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall with a medium build. She was last seen wearing a hooded sweatshirt, police said.

The second suspect is described as a light-skinned black man who is approximately 6 feet 3 inches tall and was last seen wearing a hooded sweatshirt, police said.

Investigators said both suspects are believed to be in their early 20s.
