Police use stun gun on man accused of stealing meat, biting officer

HICKORY, N.C. — Police said a man in Hickory accused of stealing meat from a Food Lion bit an officer during his arrest.

Craig Patterson was charged with felony assault on a law enforcement officer after police said he ran from them during a traffic stop.

When officers caught up to Patterson, they used a TASER to subdue him.

Police said Patterson bit one of the officers after that.

That officer will be OK.

Police said they also had warrants against the 44-year-old Patterson for possession of a stolen car from last month.
