    CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Police warn of thieves stealing from open garage in 15 seconds.

    Police in the University area are warning locals about an increase in thefts from garages. Police said that people can come and steal in a garage in as little as 15 seconds even if the victim is in the house or working in the backyard.

    Thieves are targeting bikes, lawn equipment, golf clubs or valuables from inside parked cars. There have been two reports of bikes being stolen from garages on Wednesday and Friday.  

    If suspicious activity is seen, call 911 and report it.
