PolyOne disclosed those plans to the North Carolina Department of Commerce last week in a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification — marking the latest such layoff filing associated with the coronavirus outbreak to impact the Charlotte area.

In her letter to the state, Lindsey Hudson, PolyOne senior human resources generalist, said the decision to close the company’s Pineville manufacturing facility at 10021 Rodney St. and Charlotte warehouse at 13827 Carowinds Blvd. was “a result of the unforeseeable, dramatic downturn in business caused by the coronavirus natural disaster.”

The closures will affect nearly 40 employees between the two locations.
