Former president Bill Clinton encourages early voting Sunday in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Former President Bill Clinton campaigned for his wife, Democratic presidential nominee Hillary in North Carolina Sunday.

Bill Clinton first stopped in Greensboro and then spoke to a crowd of supporters in Charlotte.

His main talking points centered on Hillary’s plan to create jobs and make college more affordable, specifically by allowing the refinancing of college loans.

He also stressed Hillary’s ability to effectively work across party lines.

During his 45 minute-speech Bill Clinton did not address the FBI’s announcement of its probe into a new batch of emails they believe are relevant to the once-closed investigation into Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server while secretary of state.

The FBI began an investigation into allegations that former congressman Anthony Weiner, the now estranged husband of top Clinton aide Huma Abedin was sexting with a North Carolina teen.

During the course of that investigation, FBI officials said they found emails that “appear to be pertinent” to the Clinton email matter.

On Friday, FBI Director James Comey sent a letter to members of Congress informing them of the newly discovered emails on Weiner's laptop, saying the FBI will take the appropriate steps that will allow an investigation that determines whether they contain classified information.

The announcement comes just days before Election Day and with early voting already underway.

“I think there is a lot to be learned over the next few days,” said one Charlotte resident who attended Bill Clinton’s rally Sunday.  “It just sounds like there is nothing there.”

“I feel at this point. This late in the game. That’s just fluff,” another attendee said.

Officials say it's unclear, at this point, how much more will be learned before Nov. 8th.
