President Trump to visit NC for ‘Make America Great Again’ rally

GREENVILLE, N.C. — President Donald Trump will be back in North Carolina this week for a “Make America Great Again” rally.

This one is happening Thursday in Greenville at 1 p.m. at the Pitt-Greenville Airport.

The announcement comes after the president’s doctor said Saturday night he was no longer at risk of transmitting COVID-19.

Meanwhile, Trump wants to reschedule the debate against former Vice President Joe Biden this week in-person.

It was supposed to take place Thursday, but then Trump tested positive for COVID-19 and he refused to participate in a virtual event.

White House Deputy Communications Director Brian Morgenstern said Trump is urging the Commissions on Presidential Debates to put the second matchup back on the schedule.

“The president is ready to debate, and his doctors have cleared him for participating in public engagements,” Morgenstern said. “They’ve said he’s no longer a risk for transmission.”

Biden’s campaign has booked him for a town hall on Thursday.
