Reid’s Southpark location closed after worker tests positive for COVID-19

CHARLOTTE — A popular Southpark restaurant is closed after one of its employees tested positive for COVID-19.

Reid's said that the employee wasn't showing any signs of the virus before the positive test.

On Monday, Channel spotted several customers walk up and try the doors at the restaurant, only to find them locked.

Signs on the doors inform customers that on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. they learned an employee at the location tested positive for COVID-19.

The Southpark location will remain closed until they have all employees tested and the facility deep cleaned. Owner Tom Coker said they hope to reopen by Wednesday.

On the door, another sign lets people know their Myers Park location is open.

Coker told Channel 9 all of his employees have been wearing masks and they've been performing temperature checks before each shift for the last month.

Channel 9 learned that the employee who tested positive was asymptomatic.
