Report: Charlotte Douglas 7th busiest airport in world

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A new report released Tuesday claims that Charlotte Douglas International Airport is the seventh busiest airport in the world -- in terms of take offs and landings.

The 'Airports Council International' said nearly 558,000 flights took off or landed in Charlotte last year.

That is up 1.1 percent compared to 2012.

Charlotte ranks 23rd in the world in terms of passengers getting on and off of planes.

Atlanta's airport topped both lists.
